WoW Daily: Going on hiatus

Just watch the above video. Research indicates it carries a 90% chance of making your day better. I mean, come on: it's friggin' YouTube and somehow this video has ZERO thumbs down. Zero. That's gotta be some sort of record. Plus, I used to have a pair of leather pants like that when I was 18.

The reason for the video and the hiatus are the same: I've completed Lost in the Deeps & Glop, Son of Glop, meeting the simple goal I set two weeks ago. And who'da thunk it would only require a little bit of focus. When taking the three minutes to check each day, the quests seemed to be available roughly every three days, a couple of times back to back.

Since I ended up landing all but the Pandaren Fire Spirit in the past week, I've stopped focusing on the Pandaren Spirit Tamers, though I will admit I'm aware the pets (which may be contained in bags players receive from defeating the tamers) can sell for a grand or two on my server. It's something to consider in order to me help hit the gold cap by my target date. The dungeon mounts are an option, but really, there's nothing on the list I feel compelled to do at this point, especially when patch 5.2 looms just around the corner.

Which begs a question: are you happy with the amount and variety of content in this expansion from the bird's eye view? Personally, I find there are a lot of options for one character, let alone two or three. While as an achievement whore I'm drooling to go back and knock out some of the older ones I've missed, I really can't afford to spend the time at the moment. Which I'm OK with.

So this bi-weekly thing here called WoW Daily is going on hiatus. Out of office. AFK.

WoW Daily: the list grows & the love returns

The good news: I did see Lost in the Deeps and Glop, Son of Glop a couple of times each when I remembered to check for them. The OK-but-makes-the-daily-list-significantly-longer news: I made great progress on the pet battle front, which not only necessitates an update to the veteran leveling guide, but means I have a couple of extra options when it comes to daily tasks: the Pandaren Spirit Tamer fights.

Actually, I'm being dramatic for drama's sake. It's really not that bad. I grabbed the Earth Spirit as the quest reward for how much trouble it gave me, a guildie gifted me an Air Spirit, and the Water Spirit dropped from the bag a couple of days later. Between pet battles and my love (the boomkin pictured above) returning to the game after a six month hiatus, I've been a busy guy. Too busy to chase after mounts that rarely drop.

So I'll be focusing on the two quests above. Just those. In two weeks, I hope to have a level 90 rogue, a level 90 boomkin partner, and no reason to go back to Deepholm for a long, long time.

Happy Valentines!

WoW Daily: tying loose ends

While my weekly list is rather lengthy, I have a more difficult time compiling a list of things I could do daily, outside of the rep grinds and the like. I say could because if one were to do these things daily, there wouldn't be much time left for other activities. These activities require a high tolerance for boredom, as most of them involve low probabilities and drop rates.

Of course any achievement hunter will be slowly chipping away at achievements. This list isn't for those. This one is for those handful of things I'm after and could attempt daily, if afforded the time and the patience. At first glance, this list may seem short, but one could literally engage in some of these activities non-stop until the desired outcome is achieved. But eff that. Because pet battles.

Kaitz asks: What's your daily routine?

WTB manicure. And pencils w/ erasers.
Community blog topics. I'm very much digging them right now. If it weren't for them, the ratio between my drafts and posts would be even greater. I found Kaitz over at Memoirs of a Pet Collector via Nev and her 20 Days of Gold Making community blog topic.

I think I might do too much on a daily basis, and some of it for naught. The idea that I need to maximize my profession CDs, the yield from my farm(s), the amount of active auctions...where did it originate? Can't remember. Truth is, I don't do this daily. But if I had the time, this is what I would do.

At minimum, my quick-and-dirty version takes about 40 minutes.
